You guys know how much I love sunsets and will never get enough of them. Living on the left coast, we’re blessed with spectacular splashes of colors at the end of the day and no two are alike. But we realized it’s been too long since we’ve seen a sunrise and we decided to change that.
We trekked to Malibu at 5:30am, coffee and bagel in tow, and drove through Kanan doing what I always do – chase the light. We arrived just in time to witness this:

To watch our side of the world awake swathed in ribbons of colors was…well, amazing, really. And standing there watching the sun peek out over the mountains with no sound but the wind and a peace and quiet only early mornings can bring makes one realize how pretty damn lucky you are to be where you are…to be who you are. It’s a wonderful world.

Sometimes everything comes together to create a most perfect moment – a moment you mentally freeze in your thoughts and file away under “content”. Driving along the coast with the windows down, hair blowing, and this song filling the speakers was one such moment. #happy
