Hi Friends! It’s been awhile but I have a really good excuse for being absent — actually, 2 good excuses. This squishy face right here is one of them. :)
Please say hello to our little ray of light, River Zeldon Lance.
I took his newborn photos when he was 10 days old and we were living with boxes strewn everywhere, getting ready to move. Which, btw, is my 2nd excuse for being absent. ;)
His first month with us was…insane. We ended up in the ER 3 days after he was born (you can see the bruise on his hand where they inserted the IV), moved exactly 2 weeks after he was born, and we’re still unpacking boxes.
The first month was undoubtedly very challenging but we’re finally getting into a groove and settling into a schedule that seems to be working for everyone (insert “Thank you Jesus” emoji here — you know which one I’m talking about).
I have so much to share with you. So. Much. I’ll be posting River’s birth story this week (spoiler: nothing went as planned) and also sharing about my breast feeding journey, postpartum emotions, our first health scare, my favorite baby products, getting on a schedule with the baby, and lots of other topics.
It feels good to be back and having a sense of normalcy again.
Overall, becoming a mother and being River’s mother has been so fulfilling. He amazes and delights us everyday and I find myself sitting with him and just staring into his eyes in awe. I still can’t believe our Rainbow Baby is finally here.
I can’t thank you enough for all your support and prayers and love throughout this journey. I’m excited to bring you into this new chapter of our lives and have you be a part of it. And certainly learn from you. I get it now. The village thing. Yeah, I get it. It certainly does take one. ;)
The future is bright, my friends. :)
