Hope you’re having a great Monday! As you can see there won’t be a Weekend Photo Diary post this week. Instead I’ll be sharing with you some blog announcements and what you can expect here in the next coming months.
As you know, I’m a photographer and this is currently my main job and career. Fall is always one of the busiest times of year for me especially with families wanting photos for their Holiday cards. October and November are going to be a bit crazy because of all the shoots, our upcoming baby shower, attending prenatal classes, running to doctor’s appointments every other week, and of course just generally preparing for the arrival of our Baby Boy. I’ve been doing my best to post 4-5 times a week here but it’s becoming challenging now so for the next few months I’ll be cutting it down to 2-3 posts a week. My Weekend Photo Diary posts and Thankful Friday posts won’t be every week in order to make room for other content but will still pop up here and there.
Speaking of other content, I’m really excited about some posts I’ll be sharing with you soon! If you watched my InstaStories on Instagram (@lovexlemonade) or my Snapchat (loveandlemonade), you know that I was part of a very special photoshoot last week and I was actually in front of the camera this time. As nervous and scary as it was, the shoot was for something very important to me and it was an honor to be a part of it with some incredible women. I can’t wait to share more about it as well as the photos which will be posted next week!
I also have some fun posts planned in collaboration with some great companies! In regards to collaboration posts, please know that I consider each company seriously and will not work with just anybody for free stuff or to get paid. I do turn down collaborations more often than not. Blogging takes a lot of time and work (I know it sounds crazy but it really does) so it has to be for something I can love and be excited about in order for me to take time out of my work and personal schedule to prep the post. It also has to be worthwhile for you which I take into serious consideration, as well.
As for what will happen when our Baby is finally here, I may take a week or two off from blogging depending on how labor and delivery goes and how well Baby Boy settles into his home. My maternity leave begins December 1st which gives me a month, give or take, to prep and schedule future posts. I’ll be returning to photography work in April and I am already booking shoots for next Spring.
Blogging and writing has always been another creative outlet for me and I can’t thank you enough for always encouraging and supporting Love & Lemonade. When I relaunched this blog over the summer, it was mainly to share more of my personal life with you and bring you along on our current journey to parenthood. As scary as it was to openly share my feelings and experiences on such a public platform, this was something I needed to do to aid in the healing process as well as to try and help others who are experiencing a similar journey. All the emails and messages I’ve received from other women have touched me immensely and I hope I can continue to advocate and help those who need it. As always, you can always email me or ask me questions anonymously here.
Thank you again for just walking alongside me and helping me navigate through this new and exciting chapter in our lives. I’ve already learned so much from all of you and I hope we can continue to lift and encourage each other through life’s ups and downs. I know I’ll mess up tons as a brand new mom so it really makes me feel better knowing I’m not alone and can turn to you guys for advice. And hopefully we can all laugh about motherhood together.
