When someone you know goes through a pregnancy loss, it’s difficult to find the right words to say. You want to be as sensitive and sincere as possible and not want to hurt their already broken hearts by saying the wrong things. Dr. Jessica Zucker knows this all too well so she created her wonderful miscarriage cards.
Dr. Zucker is a psychologist in Los Angeles who primarily works with people coping with pregnancy and miscarriage related issues. She knows and understands the the pain and isolation since she has also experienced a devastating miscarriage when she was 16 weeks pregnant. She began a campaign called #IHadAMiscarriage to let others know they are not alone and created a line of pregnancy loss cards to help say the words people may have difficulty putting together in times like these.
When I shared the news of my losses, Dr. Zucker reached out to me with her love and support and she has continued to be so supportive and encouraging during my current pregnancy. I am so thankful for the work she does to destigmatize pregnancy loss and the awareness she brings to such a heartbreaking matter. And the way she helps others navigate their way through the storm until they find the rainbow at the end.
And when your loved one finally gets their rainbow baby.
P.S. What not to say and do to someone going through a miscarriage.
