Last Saturday was our baby shower and it was just amazing. My beautiful, talented, incredible girlfriends have been planning it since August and Christopher and I had no idea what to expect but we were just blown away by everything.
The only things that were really important to me was 1) that Christopher was a part of it because this journey is as much his as it is mine, 2) I wanted it to be a family affair and not just for us ladies, and 3) I wanted the kids to have fun. Everything else I trusted my girlfriends with. We initially decided to have it at a park but ended up switching the venue to the private lounge in our apartment building the week of the shower due to rain. Christopher and I joked how fitting it was since we’ve had so many significant moments here — moving in together, our first pregnancy (and 2nd and 3rd), our wedding/elopement on the roof, our wedding dinner (at the restaurant in the ground floor of our building), this pregnancy, and now our baby shower. It will also be Baby Boy’s first home. In the end, we were meant to celebrate here.
I took this photo from our window the morning of our shower because I wanted to remember everything. I remember Christopher and I looked at each other and couldn’t believe it. We made it, we whispered to each other. I know even setting a date for the shower back in August made us really nervous and we just hoped that everything would keep going well until that day. To wake up and see the beautiful sky and feel Baby Boy kicking and moving was emotional and luckily the tears were shed before the celebration began. The day wasn’t just about the baby shower. It meant we had reached another milestone and we were another step closer to meeting our son.
Anyway, here are some photos from our beautiful shower. Everything was perfect and it was so wonderful to have our friends and family with us to celebrate our little miracle boy.
We asked guests to bring their favorite books and write a special message to Baby Lance. Christopher and I loved reading them that evening.
Homemade chocolates by coordinator extraordinaire, Ellen. Most of the desserts, minus the cupcakes, were made by her and they were gluten-free!

More homemade goodies by Ellen.
We also had a Halloween costume contest for this kids. It was so cute seeing some of them running around dressed up.

Not just for the kids. Christopher really enjoyed it, too. haha
Thank you to all our friends and family who joined us on Saturday! It meant the world to have you there. We really couldn’t have made it this far without all your love, care, and support and Baby Lance is so very fortunate to have you all in his life. Thank you for being with us on this journey and for loving our son as much as we do. We can’t wait for you to finally meet him!

*Special thanks to my closest friends, Ellen Choe (Sky Meadow Place), Mayelene Kim, and Helen Ban for coordinating and planning the entire party. Extra special thanks to Ellen for the set-up, decor, desserts, and overall magic touch. She is a professional coordinator and does weddings, dohls, and other events so please reach out to her if you need help. She’s the best. (ellen @ skymeadowplace.com)
