As I reflect back on this year and think about all the things I am incredibly thankful for, I want to take this moment to personally thank you.
When I transitioned this blog to become more of a lifestyle/personal blog, I had no idea what to expect and didn’t know whether I was doing the “right” thing. For the past 7+ years, the focus of this website was to share my photography with you and include you in the growth and evolution of my career. For most of my 30’s, my life was my career and my career my life. And then suddenly it all changed.
As much as I love being a photographer, my priorities and roles have shifted drastically in the last 2 years. I am now first and foremost a wife and mother (officially in about 5.5 weeks) — 2 roles I never thought I would step into let alone embrace as much as I have. I love being a wife. Correction: I love being Christopher’s wife. Deciding to marry him was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life and our first year as a married couple has been nothing short of wonderful.
I’m absolutely ecstatic to become a mom. Especially to this Boy who seems so magical already and just meant to be ours. This entire pregnancy has been so special — from getting a positive on a home pregnancy test on my 37th birthday (talk about a birthday surprise) to his due date being New Year’s Day. Everyday I’ve fallen more and more in love with him and I can’t wait to finally hold him and thank him for slowly healing my broken heart from losing his 3 siblings.
I am far from the person I was when I began this blog. No longer am I just a career woman and a photographer. As my life and my roles have changed so has my voice. And this site needed to reflect these changes, as well. As nervous as I was to share these changes with you and share such a different and more personal voice, it felt RIGHT and appropriate given who I am now. I am no longer a 30 year old single girl launching a new career. I’m now a wife entering motherhood and an exciting new chapter in my life.
I cannot thank you enough for your support and for wanting to join me on my new journey. It’s been so much fun having all of you be a part of it and being able to share these new experiences with you. Thank you to those who have been with me since the beginning over 7 years ago and thank you to those who may have recently discovered this website and decided to come along for the ride. Thank you for embracing my “new” blog and for allowing me to continue to do what I love. I look forward to sharing more about my life as a wife, new mother, photographer, and of course blogger.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. Thank you for loving me as much as I love you.
Wishing you and your families a happy and beautiful Thanksgiving.
